Thanks to its very large and comprehensive production facilities,
DELBARD nurseries are one of the top French companies in this
sector, and a major player among the big European nurseries.
The production activity is based in the Allier département
at Malicorne, close to Commentry.
We produce mainly fruit trees and roses but also some ornamental
plants (iris, peony, perennials, shrubs).

We have 500 ha of useful agricultural land,
with 250 planted with nursery plants. Every year we plant
over 50 ha. Most of the area is used for fruit trees.
For fruit tree growers we produce scions certified VF
by the CTIFL. We have our own orchard producing graft
material certified VF CTIFL (contract 8).
For the amateur markets we produce all forms of fruit
trees: scions, quenouille-trained, standards, espaliers
etc.
The roses we produce for the garden are bush, climbing
and standards, mostly of varieties created by DELBARD.
We also produce the following :
> small fruit: raspberries (large quantities), red
and black currants
> iris and peony: we produce large quantities (200,000)
of some thirty iris varieties.
> shrubs: lilac (syringa), privet (ligustrum) etc

We have 2 areas for above
the ground production with over 20,000 m2 under
cover (green houses and plastic tunnels) and areas
for outdoor cultivation.
Mostly we produce:
> container roses (bush, climbing and standard)
sold in active vegetation and flower from March
to September.
> fruit trees and small fruit bushes in containers.
> perennials in small pots and containers for
the garden centres and mail order sales.
> ornamental shrubs and climbing plants, for
the nursery market, and for fruit tree growing we
produce fruit rootstocks in pots.

We have an 800 m2 micropropagation
laboratory with 3 cultivation chambers.
We produce:
> fruit tree rootstocks
> roses
> small fruit varieties
> forestry plants (wild cherry, etc)
> ornamental and flowering plants (orchids, etc)
> vegetable plants (cauliflower, leek, etc)
Our considerable experience enables us to offer
to act as service providers for some very large
companies (SYNGENTA ex NOVARTIS, PERNOD-RICARD,
etc)

| Storage and
shipping |

We have 8,000 m2 of buildings with
a 4,000 m3 refrigerated unit. We pack our plants so that they
remain attractive at the point of sale (roots in peat, use of
plastic sachets, labelling etc). We deliver to over 700 points
of sale in France and abroad.
For the mail order business, we despatch to over 50,000 customers
every year.
